张绪穆,国际知名配位化学和金属有机化学家,现任南方科技大学理学院副院长、化学系讲席教授。1982年在武汉大学获得学士学位;1985年在中国科学院福建物质结构研究所获得硕士学位,师从卢嘉锡院士(诺贝尔获奖者Linus Pauling 的博士后,时任中国科学院院长);1987年在加州大学圣地亚哥分校(University of California, San Diego)获得硕士学位,师从Gerhard N. Schauzer教授;1992年在斯坦福大学(Stanford University)获得博士学位,师从美国国家科学院院士James P. Collman教授(两位诺贝尔获奖者Sharpless和Grubbs的导师);1992—1994年在斯坦福大学做博士后研究;1994—2006年任教于美国宾夕法尼亚州州立大学并获终身教授职位;2007—2015年任新泽西州立大学化学学院杰出讲席教授;2015-2018年,任南方科技大学化学系讲座教授及系主任;2017年当选中组部专家联谊会化学化工专委会主任;2018年,任南方科技大学理学院副院长。曾获多项荣誉,包含深圳市“2016时代深士”、中国经济十大创新人物(2010年)和The ACS Arthur C. Cope Scholar Award(2002年)。其研究领域包括不对称氢化、不对称氢甲酰化、金属有机化学、药物绿色合成。

Xumu Zhang received his BS from Wuhan University (1982) and MS from Fujian Institute of Material Structure, Chinese Academy of Sciences (1985) with Professor Jiaxi Lu and University of California, San Diego (1987) with Professor Gerhard N. Schrauzer. He received his PhD in chemistry in 1992 from Stanford University under the guidance of Professor James P. Collman (The supervisor of Nobel Prize winner Sharpless and Grubbs). He pursued postdoctoral research at Stanford University from 1992 to 1994. Before joining SUSTech in 2015, he was a professor of chemistry in Pennstate University and distinguished professor in Rutgers University. Prof. Zhang is the first person from mainland China, who won the prestigious ACS Cope Scholar Award in 2002 for his invention of the toolbox of chiral ligands and for his development of homogeneous catalysts that make it practical to synthesize many chiral molecules, especially those having biological significance. In 2014, a chemical reaction was named after his name as Zhang Enyne Cycloisomerization. In frontier areas of science, Prof. Zhang has applied over 50 U.S. and international patents, published more than 300 papers and the papers have been cited over 15000 times. His research interests include highly efficient and selective hydrogenation and hydroformylation, biomass conversion and green synthesis of chiral drugs.

讲座摘要/Abstract:

超高效(转化数大于百万)高选择性不对称氢化是药物绿色合成的关键共性技术。早在1998年张绪穆教授就出了将三齿配体应用于简单酮氢化的概念,设计合成了ambox配体,其在钌催化不对称转移氢化中表现出优异的对映选择性。2016年,张绪穆教授创造性将二茂铁骨架引入到三齿配体中,设计合成了新型的f-amphox配体,其在简单酮的氢化中表现出超高的活性和对映选择性(>1,000,000 TON, 99% ee)。在此基础上,张绪穆教授又相继开发出了基于二茂铁骨架的手性三齿配体f-amphol、f-ampha、f-amphamide、Yao-PNP等,以及刚性骨架的富电子的Heng-PNP。这些三齿配体已经被应用到如依折麦布和孟鲁斯特等多种重大药物的绿色合成中,取得了显著的经济效益。

The highly efficient and selective asymmetric hydrogenation is a key widely used technology for green synthesis of drugs. As early as 1998, Professor Xumu Zhang has already proposed the concept of using tridentate ligands in simple ketone hydrogenation. His group designed and synthesized ambox ligands, which showed excellent enantioselectivity in ruthenium-catalyzed asymmetric transfer hydrogenation. In 2016, Prof. Zhang creatively introduced ferrocene framework into the tridentate ligand and synthesize a novel ligand f-amphox, which showed extremely high activity and enantioselectivity (>1,000,000 TON, 99% ee) in the hydrogenation of simple ketones. On this basis, Prof. Zhang has successively developed a series of chiral tridentate ligands based on ferrocene skeleton, including f-amphol, f-ampha, f-amphamide, Yao-PNP, as well as electron-rich Heng-PNP. These tridentate ligands have been used in the green synthesis of many important drugs, such as ezetimibe and montelukast, which also created remarkable economic benefits.
